Yalıkavak along with Turgutreis and downtown Bodrum is one of the three big residential areas in Bodrum Peninsula. With respect to other two, Yalikavak in my opinion is developing in a much better way. The villages of Geris and Sandima are really very exclusive.
Downtown Yalikavak is also one of my favorite places. The small harbor and the cafes and bars located around are very cute. There is a good balance of local and touristic feel. The area is becoming popular among Britons year by year. On match days it is interesting to see pubs showing matches of British teams while local “Kahvehane” (coffee house) broadcasting the matches of Turkish teams in this area where all are located side by side.
On the shore line the marina offers many upscale restaurants and bars. If you follow the road to further west from marina you will see the best seafood restaurants Bodrum has to offer.
