Nobu is a big name in the world of restaurants . I have been to their restaurant in London Berkeley Street and I was really pleased with that experience. The entrance leads you to the lounge area. We got our cocktails there while waiting for our table. The ambiance of the lounge could be slightly warmer though. Probably the reason why I felt like this is because the entire saloon was empty at the moment we first come. The restaurant area upstairs is nicely decorated. From the lighting to the decoration everything is aligned and the staff is handling the operation very smoothly. But I should say if you are looking for a sort of wow factor, it might arguably falls tad short of the likes of Hakkasan or Yauatcha.
The food however is superb. It was one of the best pieces of meal I have enjoyed in a long time. Just weeks before this experience I was looking at a cook book at a relaxed cafe and the book was about the recipes from Nobu. The pictures were so good that I made the booking immediately afterwards. And the real experience did not disappoint me as well. My applause to the chefs.
Let me give you a quick sample of what we had that night. We started with Edamame and then continued with New Style Sweet Shrimp Sashimi. The Shrimp Tempura and Tender Octopus with Yuzu Lemon Garlic were a festive to our stomach. The whole event got only when we taste Wagyu Beef and Beef Skewers as a main course. Accompanied to our food we opt for Chilled Sake of our choice.
I would highly recommend Nobu especially if you want to taste really classy food in a good ambiance. However, the price could be considered slightly premium for the whole experience to be described as “excellent value”.
